ARTISTS

Nova Pulsar (Ecuador, USA)

Roberto Alvear, also known as Rob Alvear, is an Ecuadorian artist based in Miami. He started playing synths and doing backing vocals. Later, Rob moved on to lead vocals because the members of the first band where he played wanted to try how it would sound with Rob as a lead singer. Years after, he became involved in electronic music and was a member of different electronic music projects. Eventually, Roberto started his solo project called Pulsar, which later changed to Nova Pulsar for legal reasons. He has participated in collaborations and remixes for other artists and has done featuring in English and Spanish for other bands. Roberto doesn't want to label Nova Pulsar's music. He considers it a blend of Synthpop, Synthwave, New Wave, and Chillpop, among other styles. With a heavy influence from 80s bands such as The Cure, Camouflage, Duran Duran, and modern acts like Roosevelt, Churches, and Hurts. His lyrics talk about love, God, and people, always trying to transmit a positive message through his songs with modern sounds.
